Karen is a Christian singer, songwriter and speaker based in Melbourne, Australia
Karen has been travelling around churches since 2008. In that time, she has released two CDs, had an article published in Transforming Sydney and been interviewed on radio. Karen is currently writing children's books.
She speaks of God’s healing and forgiveness, of reaching out to the hurting people in our community and of following God’s direction for our lives.
Karen has taught Maths to children with learning difficulties in TAFE and secondary schools, and has worked as a chaplain at a local primary school.
Karen is married to Jeff and they have three adult children – Amanda is a Christian musician, Emily and her husband, Rodrigo, work for Pioneers with disadvantaged families in Bolivia. Karen's son Simon has recently finished working as a pilot with Mission Aviation Fellowship in Arnhem Land. He plans to join Emily in Bolivia.
Karen became a Christian at the age of 27. These are some of the major events in Karen’s journey with God since then:
1990: Joined the worship team
1993: Began writing songs
1998: Had brain-surgery for epilepsy
2002: Began teaching students with learning difficulties
2006: Began leading worship
2008: Suffered depression and had prayer ministry
2008: Began singing and speaking in other churches
2011: Released first CD
2012: Moved from teaching to school chaplaincy
2014: Article published in Transforming Sydney Newsletter – Nov 2014
2015: Interviewed on Seymour FM radio
2015: Released second CD
2016: Finished chaplaincy. Focussed on singing and speaking ministry.
2017: Son joined Mission Aviation Fellowship as a pilot in Arnhem Land
2018: Daughter joined Pioneers to work with young families at risk in Bolivia
2019: Began writing children's picture books
2020: Completed NEIS Business Management course during lockdown. Broadening her work into other community organisations.
